Mrs. Kelzenberg
Welcome to second grade!
My name is Elly Kelzenberg and this is my 12th year teaching 2nd grade at Liberty Ridge. Before that I taught two years of 5th grade and one year of 1st at Bailey Elementary. I became a teacher after working for many years as a copywriter. While I liked that work, nothing is better than being in a classroom!
My husband, John, and I have four children, one son-in-law, a son-in-law to be, and a brand new granddaughter. Our oldest daughter, Maddie, is married to Nick. They live in St. Cloud where she is a pharmacist. They welcomed Charlotte Ann (Charlie) into the world in August. Our second daughter, Kate, is a lawyer who will marry Adam in April 2020. Our third daughter Tess works in the tech industry in Seattle and our son, Tom, is a senior at Iowa State University this fall.
I have master's degree in education from St. Catherine's, and continue to participate in workshops and classes to stay on top of new curriculum and teaching methods that will help me be a better teacher. What I like the most about my job is working with a variety of students who are excited about school and always striving to learn new things. I am very excited to work with your student this year!
